He's Baaack: John Daly Pick One Interview

There is tremendous excitement in the golfing community about John Daly's return to the PGA Tour. In less than three weeks, Daly will tee up at the St. Jude Classic in Memphis, and hit the U.S. Open Qualifier right before the tournament. In addition to the St. Jude Classic, Daly received a sponsor's exemption to play the Buick Open in July.

JD shares my hatred of airplanes, so I'm sure he will be happy to fire up the bus for some tourneys on his home turf this summer. A media circus is likely to surround JD's return, but don't expect Daly to jump into the center ring: he's here to play golf.

His pants may be loud, but there is a calmness and ease about JD that is very appealing. He has set his sights on winning golf tournaments again and with the help of some close friends—including his girlfriend Anna and coach Rick Smith—he's taking it one step at a time.

In addition to Loudmouth Golf, Daly has a couple new sponsors: All Sport sports drinks and Big Red.

I am thrilled to see JD back and enjoyed watching him hit the links in Europe. He tied for second at the Italian Open and is currently ranked 100th on the European Tour. The top 60 will qualify for the $10 million Dubai World Championship. Daly is focused on this event and will need to play a few more European tournaments to be eligible for Dubai.

JD has reached out to fans on Twitter in a very personal way. People are thrilled to have him back, and the PGA should be pretty pumped too. JD will give the PGA Tour the kick in the pants (no pun intended) that it needs to generate some excitement. Apparently even the mainstream golf media has now come to this conclusion. Something RWG knew all along.

So without further adieu, I present The Lion.

Great questions. I love all the "boths". Perfectly illustrates his legendary amplitude.

Mr. Daly has certainly proven himself to be one of the most...no scratch that...THE most accessible, engaging golfer out there. He's pretty awesome.

Love the name of his clothing line, Loudmouth. So appropriate for their choice of fabric designs and colors. I'm anxiously awaiting the ladies line.
While on tour he'd be too busy for "Dancing", but that would be a season to watch!

Chief enjoyed both the questions and the answers, and both answers.

Chief thought John was both loud and clear.

If John Daly's middle name is Wilkes, then his new nickname is John Wilkes Both.

See the link-in?

It would be neat if JD won his first tournament back.

Boxers vs. Briefs? None? Commando Daly?

JD I totally agree with the dancing with the stars choice. Carrie-Anne is my future wife she just does not know it yet. I hear she has a fedish for southern boys. The only part that let me down is the fact that you let the question between Caddyshack and Happy Gilmore go with both and forgot to mention the best golf movie of them all....Tin Cup! On one final note, one of the assistants (who will remain anonymous) would love to get a pair of the pants that you are wearing in your picture.

I love John Daly. His new clothes make the other guys look gray.

Loved the interview! And boxers or briefs answer: None? Had me reeling with hysterics. Commando Daly! Welcome back to life as it should be!

I'm really pulling for you with The Open. You. Can. Do. It.

Great interview Heather!!!

"His new clothes make the other guys look gray."

Gray would be an upgrade. Most of the nameless - faceless clones on the PGA Tour could hardly be more boring. Go John!

Good interview, but Cocoa Bear is right. What about Tin Cup?

GO JD!!
